Equipment notes
Etzinger is a burr design and manufacturing specialist based in Liechtenstein that builds grinders on its burr-cutting expertise. The etz-I is its portable manual grinder, and the Regular is the standard-diameter body version. It uses conical burrs in a distinctive RRB (Rotating Ring Burr) arrangement, where the outer ring burr rotates around a stationary inner cone. This rotating-ring conical set grinds beans with a different cutting flow than a conventional conical, and a stepped adjustment mechanism gives repeatable return to a fixed setting. An antistatic jig, the first of its kind, minimizes static charge during grinding to reduce fines scatter and retention. Magnetic lid and cup and a folding crank add portability. It suits travel and home users who want proprietary burr technology, low static, and repeatable adjustment, and who prefer a standard hand grip diameter.
