Equipment notes

The Krups GVX2 is a higher-spec household electric burr grinder that shares the GVX1's frame but finishes the front in stainless steel. Krups began in Germany and now belongs to Groupe SEB, and this model follows a standard countertop layout of bean hopper, cup selection, and numbered coarseness dial. Per the manufacturer's listing the GVX2 uses steel flat burrs, grinding beans between two discs and biasing toward particle uniformity and cup clarity. Coarseness adjusts in numbered steps, reliably reproducing frequently used positions, and burr operation limits heat relative to a blade. It handles the drip- and French-press-centered medium-to-coarse zone comfortably, while the espresso-fine range is near this class's limit. It fits home users who care about finish and appearance while brewing easy daily filter coffee. If fine dial-in or espresso-fine grinding is needed, a higher-tier grinder is required.
