BEANDY is a coffee-gear brand founded in 2021 by Ken Miyajima, a native of Sanjo in Niigata, and the Silk Dripper is its first product, with every step from tinting to molding and packaging carried out in Tsubame-Sanjo. It was designed so the dripper itself absorbs the variables of pour-over, with the stated goal of drawing out maximum sweetness and a smooth, silky texture. Seen from above, the bed forms a petal shape that slopes gently toward the center, and ribs tracing the petal outline steer the water. Because the flow gathers along those lines and drains from a single central point, the coffee bed wets evenly and water never pools at the bottom, trimming extraction variance. The body is Tritan resin, heat-safe to 100°C and tough enough to survive drops, and it takes standard Kalita Wave 155 and 185 filters. Gentle center pours in a few pulses are all it asks; the dripper handles the rest of the flow. The cup leans clean and sweet with a silk-like softness, and reviewers note it shines with juicy light-roast specialty coffee. It is a dripper for anyone who wants sweet, smooth coffee to come out the same way every day, without technique getting in the way.
