Equipment notes

The OXO Rapid Brewer is a pump-pressure portable coffee maker introduced in 2024 by OXO, the New York housewares brand known for the universal design of its Good Grips line. It is OXO's answer within the pressure-brewer family popularized by the AeroPress: concentrated coffee anywhere, in minutes, with no electricity. You add coffee to the Tritan chamber, level it with the built-in tamper, and pour water through a rainmaker showerhead that disperses it evenly across the bed. After a short steep, pressing the pump pushes the water through the coffee and a permanent stainless steel screen at low pressure. Because no paper filter strips away the oils, the result is a full-bodied, aromatic espresso-style concentrate; an optional round paper disc placed over the screen dials it toward a cleaner, lower-sediment cup. Hot water finishes in about two minutes and cold water in about five, and the concentrate is diluted roughly 1:2 to 1:3 with water or milk. One extraction stretches from an americano or latte to a rapid cold brew. Compact and cord-free, this is a brewer for anyone who wants a rich, full-flavored cup quickly, whether at the office or on the road.

Filters that fit

The filter is built into the brewer, so there is nothing extra to buy.
