Equipment notes
De'Longhi is an Italian appliance brand based in Treviso, and the KG79 is an entry-level household electric burr grinder in its range. With a bean hopper, a grounds container, and a simple dial for coarseness, it is often chosen as a first burr grinder replacing a blade grinder in beginner households. Per the manufacturer page it uses steel flat burrs, grinding beans between two discs for uniform particles. Coarseness adjusts in fixed steps, suited to recalling frequently used settings rather than fine value changes. It practically handles the medium-to-coarse zone of drip and French press, while a very fine espresso range is hard to expect at this class. It fits people moving from a blade to a burr for the first time and home users who want easy daily filter coffee. If precise dial-in or espresso-fine grinding is the goal, a higher-tier grinder is needed.
