The TSUBAME Coffee Mill by GLOCAL STANDARD PRODUCTS is a manual hand mill made in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata, Japan. It pairs a ceramic conical burr with an 18-8 stainless body and adjusts grind size steplessly via a screw inside the body. The inner burr detaches for washing. A ceramic burr produces less heat and metallic odor than metal and resists wear, tending to hold its edge over time. The conical geometry yields body-forward particles, and stepless adjustment lets you land any point from fine to coarse freely. As a manual hand mill, however, its throughput is a cup or two at a time. It suits pour-over and immersion users who brew small amounts carefully and value the low heat of a ceramic burr and the freedom of stepless adjustment.
