The Kalita C-90 is a ceramic hand grinder from Japan's Kalita, a compact, portable drip mill with a black body. It uses a conical ceramic burr, is built around a small dose, and places a steel cut-off valve in the hopper so beans feed evenly rather than dumping at once. The handle detaches and a silicone base reduces sliding. The conical ceramic burr runs cool and resists wear, but as a small-diameter ceramic burr its uniformity is lower than high-end steel and fines rise relatively. Grind size is set by stepped settings below the burr, centered on medium pour-over and reaching coarser ranges near French press. Its small capacity suits grinding one or two cups on demand and is tiring for large batches.
