The Kalita Next G, formally NEXT G, is an electric coffee grinder that Japan's Kalita introduced in 2015 for home and small-shop use. It uses a flat ceramic burr and features a static eliminator and a low-speed motor. It is a drip-oriented electric mill built on the technology accumulated by Kalita, headquartered in Yokohama. A flat burr tends to produce a more even particle distribution than conical, favoring clarity and extraction consistency, and the ceramic material runs cool to reduce aromatic loss. The low-speed motor lowers heat, noise, and static during grinding, which helps suppress fines scatter and retained grounds. Grind size is set by dotted dial steps, steadily handling pour-over grind ranges.
