Equipment notes

The K1 is an entry-level manual grinder from the Taiwanese brand KINGrinder (manufactured in China). It uses a 38mm conical stainless steel burr whose inner burr has a five-sided profile that adds cutting surfaces. It uses an aluminum body with internal adjustment, an entry all-round model in KINGrinder's line aiming for solid grind quality at a reasonable price. The 38mm conical burr delivers the body typical of conical geometry, and the five-sided inner burr profile helps cutting efficiency and uniformity. Internal stepped adjustment has fairly fine click steps, good for precise filter-range sizing, and covers pour-over, AeroPress, moka pot, and French press broadly. It is not precise enough to dial in unpressurized espresso, however, so it is a filter-focused model. It suits users wanting broad filter-brewing coverage at an entry price, and those seeking a value-oriented all-round hand grinder.
