Moccamaster KM5

Equipment notes

Technivorm is a Netherlands brand that has hand-built Moccamaster brewers, and the KM5 is its first in-house burr grinder. It is an electric grinder with 50mm flat steel burrs and stepless knob adjustment, aimed mainly at filter brewing to pair with its own brewers. Flat burrs narrow the particles, favoring uniformity and clarity, while stepless adjustment lets you handle fine changes continuously within the filter range. Assembled in the Netherlands and certified by the European Coffee Brewing Centre, its design emphasizes grind uniformity. A direct-drive motor grinds quietly and steadily. It suits home users who want uniform grinding and clarity centered on drip and filter, especially those pairing it with a Moccamaster brewer.
