The Rocky SD is a doserless electric grinder from Rancilio, founded in 1927 in Parabiago, Italy by Roberto Rancilio. The SD configuration removes the doser, sharing the same platform as the doser Rocky but grinding straight into the portafilter instead. It uses a 50mm flat steel burr for a narrow particle distribution and defined flavor separation. A stepped adjustment collar sets grind size for repeatable settings, and the doserless design stores no grounds, keeping leftover coffee and retention low. It is built in Italy and known for a sturdy construction.
