Holzklotz is a Korean coffee tool brand based in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, and under the philosophy of finding the appeal of hand drip not in the taste but in a brief moment of calm, it has made its own drippers, stands, and grinders. The name A27 comes from the 27 A-shaped ribs standing on the inner wall, and 02 is the larger size, handling up to four cups. As on the 01, the dense A-shaped ribs hold the paper filter off the wall and open the water channels evenly, keeping a medium flow that is neither too fast nor too slow. It is ceramic, shaped from clay and fired twice in the kiln, yet its walls are on the thin side, so it is said to preheat quickly and lose little heat mid-brew. With the larger bed, the fundamentals of distributing water evenly decide how uniform the cup turns out. Use Hario V60 size 02 conical filters, warm the dripper before brewing, then bloom and pour in stages for a balanced cup where sweetness comes through gently rather than acidity.
