The Zero is the flagship from Niche, a British-designed low-retention single-dose grinder built around a 63mm conical steel burr set. It grew out of the view that commercial grinders were too big, too loud and retained too much ground coffee for home use, and was developed to grind a single dose with minimal waste. A conical burr tends to produce slightly more fines than a flat and leans toward body and texture, adding weight to the cup. A stepless motorised adjustment moves smoothly across a wide range, and the aluminium body with oak trim gives a finish suited to a home setting. It suits users who centre on espresso but want one machine that reaches filter too, and home enthusiasts who single dose with a different coffee each time.
