The SD40 is Turin's conical single-dose grinder for the US market, built on the compact iTop-made single-dose platform. A mostly metal body, bellows, and a tilted grounds path keep retention low in this entry to mid-level electric grinder. V1 is the earlier version of the line. The conical steel burrs tend to build body and texture in the cup, and the compact burr set fits home-scale use. Fine, smoothly progressing adjustment covers a broad size range, reaching from espresso through filter to French press. It fits entry-level home baristas who want low-retention single dosing and the weightier, textured cup of a conical grinder without a large outlay.
