The Svart Aroma is an electric grinder from Wilfa, a Norwegian appliance brand. It was developed in collaboration with 2004 World Barista Champion Tim Wendelboe, focused on making good filter coffee easy at home. It has stainless steel conical burrs, a low-speed DC motor, a numbered dial, a generous bean hopper, and a timer. Conical burrs handle a wide grind range easily and tend toward a cup with body. Low-speed operation limits heat, working to reduce loss of aroma. The numbered dial is stepped, making it easy to repeat settings across filter methods such as pour-over, French press, and AeroPress. Rather than the extreme uniformity of a large dedicated flat grinder, its character leans toward dependable everyday filter grinding and ease of use.
