Orea is an independent brewer brand founded in East London in 2020, and the O2 is the single-cup O1's shape scaled up to a 1-2 cup brewer. True to its 'Big Baby O' nickname, it keeps the O1's unibody simplicity while adding room for bigger brews, shared cups and more experimental recipes. A shallow flat bed sits above a wide open bottom, so the flat paper sags slightly toward the middle and the water path converges at the centre, layering a conical flow over the flat bed. With almost no resistance at the base, drawdown is fast and grind size and pour rate show up directly in the cup, which leans toward clean acidity, good sweetness and a lighter, tea-like body. It accepts both 185 wave and flat papers: wave drains faster for a lighter cup, flat reduces bypass for a sweeter, fuller cup. Silicone Regulators #2 and #4 press into the base to cap the maximum flow rate and secure contact time, and the #8 Switch Regulator connects it to a Hario Switch base for immersion and hybrid brewing. It is optimized for 12-28 g (200-460 ml) and handles 10-32 g with the right recipe. The Tritan (heat-resistant plastic) body is light, sturdy, and travel-friendly, with lower heat retention than metal or ceramic.
