A modular flat-bottom dripper from Orea, a small brewing equipment brand based in London, UK. Orea grew out of its founder's search for a compact brewer to take travelling and camping, refining the form through the V2 and V3. The V4 was designed with the goal of fitting four brewing styles into a single funnel, and it won a European Product Design Award in 2023. The core idea is the same as the Narrow: interchangeable bottoms (Classic, Open, Fast, Apex) change where the water makes contact and how it exits, tuning the flow rate. The Wide reclines the wall angle to 65 degrees, spreading the coffee bed shallower and broader. Orea notes that under identical conditions its drawdown runs a little slower than the Narrow's, and the larger volume leaves more room for bigger doses. Orea describes the Wide as favouring body and balance, while the Narrow leans toward brightness and intensity. Like the Narrow, it accepts both wave and flat filters. Covering single cups through somewhat larger batches within one modular system, this is a dripper for brewers who prefer a balanced cup over sharp clarity.
