The 1Zpresso J-Max S is the foldable-handle version of the J-Max. Its core hardware, the 48mm conical steel burr, external adjustment ring and magnetic catch cup, matches the J-Max; the folding handle simply reduces bulk for easier carry and storage. External adjustment, changing grind at the outer ring without opening the burr, favors repeated espresso dial-in, and the fine per-click travel allows small grind changes. The conical steel burr builds body along with fines, and the wide adjustment range reaches from dense extraction to filter. The folding handle changes form rather than performance, so the grinding behavior is the same as the J-Max.
