Mahlkönig's iconic electric all-round and filter grinder from Germany. It uses 98mm flat cast steel burrs, and the '1-11' in its name refers to the early numbered-dial version; newer units use a 0-16 dial, so the generations should be distinguished. A large flat-burr grinder that became a specialty-industry standard, it handles batch brew, pour-over, and cupping at volume and is strong at single-dosing for filter. The large flat burrs deliver a narrow particle distribution and high uniformity for a clarity-forward cup. Adjustment is stepless via the numbered dial, covering fine filter through slightly coarser ranges. Aftermarket burrs such as SSP can reshape its character, making it flexible for roastery and bar settings. It suits cafés and roasteries wanting clarity and high-volume consistency, cupping labs, and users serious about single-dose filter.
