Equipment notes

The Hario V60 EVC-8B is Hario's home electric coffee grinder, a compact model built to pair with the V60 brewing line. It uses a stainless steel conical burr and is a desktop grinder with a small hopper in a narrow footprint and an outlet designed to reduce static and scatter. It is motor-driven rather than a manual hand mill. The steel conical burr cuts more sharply than ceramic with a comparatively narrow distribution, giving good batch-to-batch repeatability for a home electric. Grind size is set by stepped dial settings, covering a wide span from coarse French press through the finer ranges aimed at pour-over and espresso. Still, as a small home burr it cannot match the uniformity or throughput of large commercial grinders. It fits home users who want to grind pour-over such as V60 easily by motor, and entry to intermediate users who want one grinder to handle a wide range of grind sizes.
