Varia's Hand Grinder was the brand's debut product, a purely manual mill built into a light aluminium body around a stainless steel conical burr. It sits at the entry point of Varia's portable lineup, aimed at travel and small kitchens, and predates the brand's electric VS grinders. It favours the simplicity and low weight of a hand crank over motorised convenience. The stainless conical burr gives a sharp, clean cut with the fuller body and somewhat broader particle spread typical of conical geometry. Adjustment is counted in clicks from the fully closed point, so a chosen setting is easy to recall and repeat. The range comfortably covers espresso through pour over to French press. It suits someone who wants a compact, light grinder that still feels solid, a first manual grinder to start with, or a single travel companion for camping and trips.
