The VS3 Gen 2 is the compact electric model from the specialty grinder brand Varia, built around 48mm stainless steel conical burrs with stepless adjustment that changes grind continuously rather than in clicks. The second generation raises driveshaft and burr alignment precision and reworks the motor and gearbox, improving grind consistency over the original. It packs an adjustment range that reaches espresso into a small footprint. Stepless adjustment lets you narrow the grind finely without being tied to click steps, which is an advantage in areas needing fine tuning such as espresso dial-in. The 48mm conical burrs have more headroom in throughput and consistency than 40mm-class units and keep the body-forward cup character typical of conical.
