The Comandante C40 Lab Hammerhead is a Lab Series edition on the C40 MK4 platform, hand-made in Germany. Its body and mechanics match the standard MK4; the difference is the burr geometry. The Hammerhead burr, developed at the Bavarian Burr Lab, uses a hexagonal block blade geometry that bites large, dense beans such as Pacamara efficiently. It is a purpose-built burr aimed at a cup profile, not a colour or limited run. This burr is designed to draw dense, velvety full body and pronounced sweetness from dense beans and beans with fruity structure. With a 39 mm conical steel burr and stepped click adjustment it covers a wide range from filter while producing a cup that emphasises body and depth. It suits users who prefer thick body, sweetness, and depth over bright acidity, and pour-over or all-round brewers who often work with dense beans.
