It pairs 38mm conical stainless steel burrs with an aluminum body, adjusted by a stepped internal nut at the base. It belongs to the series' early generation with standard stainless burrs, preceding the S2C (Spike-to-Cut) burr set introduced on the later C3 line. Conical burrs carry some fines and lean toward a fuller-bodied cup, and the standard burr geometry yields somewhat lower particle uniformity than the higher S2C sets. Its comfortable range is the medium-to-coarse zone for filter and immersion, while the internal stepped adjustment offers limited resolution for splitting up the fine espresso zone.
