The C3 Max is a manual hand grinder from the Chinese brand Timemore, the higher-capacity model of the popular C3 line. It uses a 38mm conical stainless burr with click-stepped grind adjustment. It is a filter-oriented grinder that increases bean capacity so you can grind a larger dose at once. Conical burrs tend to create a fines-inclusive, body-forward particle distribution, and the small 38mm diameter is limited in uniformity and throughput versus a large flat burr. Click-stepped adjustment is repeatable and easy to return to, but has lower resolution than rotation systems for fine bands like espresso.
