Timemore Sculptor 078S

Equipment notes

The Sculptor 078S is the espresso-capable electric single-dose grinder in Timemore's Sculptor series. A desktop model from Timemore, a Chinese design-led brand, it pairs a large 78mm flat steel burr with a vertically mounted burr and auger to target low retention. The 78mm flat steel burr gathers particles uniformly for clean flavor and reaches finer than the 078, covering the full range including espresso. Stepless adjustment enables fine dialing free of detents, which is especially useful for the sensitive tuning of espresso, while the vertical burr layout lets beans fall through by gravity to lower retention. It fits the home brewer who moves between espresso and filter on one machine and wants precise dial-in, and anyone seeking low-retention single dosing together with the consistency of a large flat burr.
