The Timemore (China) C3S is a manual hand grinder and the full-metal upgrade of the C3. It uses the same S2C (Spike-to-Cut) 38mm conical stainless burrs as the C3, but reduces plastic elements and finishes the whole body in metal for greater rigidity and feel. Adjustment is the same internal stepped type, with dual bearings stabilizing the burr axis. The S2C burr spikes and breaks beans before cutting to cut fines and boulders, giving good particle uniformity for a conical. Its fine-end floor sits slightly lower than the C3, widening coverage, centered on filter and reaching into immersion. True espresso is marginal with few usable settings, and the metal body reduces flex during grinding for a steadier feel. It suits pour-over and all-round filter users beyond the entry tier who want a solid full-metal build and a slightly lower fine range.
