The Chestnut X is a higher-end manual hand grinder from Chinese grinder brand Timemore. It is the model that first introduced Timemore's in-house Spike-to-Cut (S2C) conical burr, and it represents the premium line with rotation-based adjustment and refined body finishing. The burr is a conical set made of SUS440 stainless steel, in a two-stage structure where larger spikes at the top first break beans into sizeable chunks before a lower conventional section finishes the final particle. This design cuts quickly and aligns particles evenly. Adjustment is by rotation rather than clicks, with macro and micro dials layered to narrow the setting finely, enabling precise dial-in from espresso through filter. It suits enthusiasts who want both upper-tier grind uniformity and fine adjustment resolution in a manual grinder, and users who want to move between espresso and filter on one hand grinder.
