The original V60 arrived in 2004 and became the reference cone for pour over, but its results always leaned on the skill of the person pouring. NEO answers that with Hario's first rethink of the rib structure in roughly two decades, refined over two years of iterating on rib count, angle, and flow behavior. The starting point of the design was simple: V60-caliber results without a gooseneck kettle or years of pouring practice. The core is the wall itself, where 72 ultra-fine spiral ribs converge into 9 deep ribs at the base. Compared with the original's wide spiral ribs, drawdown is noticeably faster and the brew is less sensitive to variations in pouring speed. The body is Tritan (PCT resin), whose low thermal conductivity keeps temperature stable throughout the brew, and it uses conical paper filters as before. Grind slightly finer than for a classic V60, and an ordinary kettle still delivers solid results. Fast flow and high bypass make extraction forgiving, so the cup stays steady across repeated brews, and the design won an iF Design Award in 2026. This is a dripper for anyone who loves what a V60 does but has hesitated at the pouring technique it demands, and for anyone who wants everyday consistency with less effort.
