The Pegasus is a trapezoid dripper introduced in 2023 by Hario of Japan, the company best known for the conical V60. Designed to support a brewer's first steps into hand drip, it is a hybrid that pairs an easy-to-handle wedge shape with the spiral ribs that define the V60. The 02 is the standard size for two to four cups, shaped for a stable three-finger grip. A narrow, flat base carries two small drain holes, so the dripper itself governs how fast water leaves the bed. Compared with the V60's single open hole, flow is restricted, which means variations in pour speed or grind size sway the cup far less and each brew lands close to the last. The spiral ribs keep the paper off the wall for even blooming, while measuring marks on the side and a viewing window at the base let you judge dose and yield without a scale. It takes the dedicated Pegasus trapezoid paper filter in size 02, and common fan-shaped filters of the same size generally fit as well. Bloom with a medium grind, then pour in a few pulses for a steady cup. It is a dripper for households that want two or more consistent cups every day without fuss.
